Requiem Mass for Eileen Barrett

Eileen Barrett, beloved mother of Fr Bernard and Fr Richard,
passed away on Saturday 4th October.

Her funeral details are as follows:

Reception of the coffin into St Joseph’s Church, Gardenia Avenue, Luton LU3 2NS on Tuesday 28th October 2025 at 4.00 pm.

Her Requiem Mass will take place at 11.00 am on Wednesday 29th October 2025 at St Joseph’s Church, Gardenia Avenue, Luton LU3 2NS.

Burial will take place at Dunstable Cemetery, West Street, Dunstable LU6 1QD at 1.00 pm.

There will be a reception after the funeral at St Joseph’s Parish Centre (beside St Joseph’s Church), 68 Gardenia Avenue, Luton, LU3 2NS.

Et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Fidelium animae, per misericordiam Dei, requiescant in pace. Amen.


Attending the Requiem Mass for Eileen Barrett

As parking is very limited at St Joseph’s, we have organised a 29 seater minibus for Wednesday, 29th October, to take any parishioners who would like to go to the Requiem Mass for Eileen Barrett.

Contributions towards the cost of the minibus would be much appreciated and can be made on the day.

Requiem Mass Attendance & Transport

If you are planning to attend the Requiem Mass - whether travelling by minibus or arranging your own transport - please ensure you complete the Requiem Mass Attendance Form by Sunday, 26th October at the latest.

Please provide accurate numbers when completing the form so we can plan accordingly.

Alternatively, you may contact Derick on 01908 265819 to confirm your attendance, also by Sunday 26th October.

Please note: Only select ‘Yes – Lift Needed from SFdS to SMM’ if you normally attend Mass at St Francis de Sales and are unable to get to St Mary Magdalene to board the minibus.

We will do our best to arrange for someone to collect you from St Francis de Sales and bring you to St Mary Magdalene.

The family would appreciate Masses being offered for the repose of the soul of Eileen Barrett instead of any flowers.
